Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events)

Earth Day – very low key

Mud Island Community Garden, Poetry Day Ireland,
National Gallery Thursday Late

Hi!!

Oh ohhhh. Last night there was a problem at my day job. I was involved in a systems migration project over night that should not have needed any time from me. But things didn’t go according to plan. Unfortunately that meant that you have to suffer by getting the Dublin Event Guide at the end of Saturday. Apologies! And to make things worse, there is not even much happening this Sunday. :-(

This week, on Monday 22 April, is Earth Day. It is allegedly a global initiative since the 1970s that celebrates this day. So, being interested in events ;-) I had a look on www.earthday.org what events will take place in Dublin.

You probably can imagine that I was surprised when I just found TWO events in whole Dublin that celebrate Earth Day. I would have expected a good bit more engagement. Is there a lack of interest on the side of the environmental organisations or do they experience a lack of interest on the side of their target audience?

We have only one Earth, there is no Plan B. If we screw with the one we are living on, then that’s it for humankind. Sure,it will not affect you and me too badly, we will all be gone before the planet becomes inhabitable. But are we really (globally!) doing the best we can?

Interestingly, there are lots of events on Poetry Day Ireland on Thursday. :-O

I mentioned for a few weeks that I will run another introduction to Artificial Intelligence and over the last four weeks soo many new amazing products and announced were discussed and released that you will be blown away. If you did the course with me before, come back and do it again. The changes in the AI world are dramatic!

I will explain a LOT more about that in my next “Introduction to AI and ChatGPT” class. A free and completely non-technical overview for everyone of the good and bad sides of Artificial Intelligence. The class is 2 hours long via Zoom and will happen on a weekday in the near future (no date set yet).

If you are interested in finding out more so that you can form an informed opinion, join me at this class. To do that send a mail to AIClass AT inspiringleadershipacademy.com and I will tell you about the next class or alternatively sign up for information via joerg.ourpage.link/AICourse

Donations in April:
EUR 170

(By the end of the month, this number has to reach or exceed EUR 200 to guarantee the continuation of the Dublin Event Guide.)

If the Dublin Event Guide helps you to find out about free events in Dublin, please help with a donation.

The counter here shows the current donation status. By the end of the month EUR 200 will be subtracted to pay the bills. If more money has been donated, the rest will be carried forward. If donations have stopped below the EUR 200, the missing amount will be carried over.

Last week Joanne and Angie helped with a donation. Thank you so much!! Your help and support is much appreciated by me and (hopefully) by all other readers of the Dublin Event Guide, because without you, the Dublin Event Guide couldn’t continue!

With the above counter you know at all times where we stand and when donating is needed. Donations keep the Dublin Event Guide alive and all donors will also get some additional bonuses.

Here are some more details about donations:
Any amount is appreciated, but if you are looking for a recommendation, then I suggest a donation of 12 Euro per year. – That’s just one Euro per month and you get FOUR Dublin Event Guides for that Euro! If your funds are limited, but you still want to help, you can buy a virtual coffee for just EUR 4. All donations will be used in full for the Dublin Event Guide.

To donate, use the Dublin Event Guide Donation Page here: gturl.eu/DEGdonate. It is really easy to use and uses Stripe’s trustworthy payment processing. You can even sign up for a yearly subscription on the donation page! Yearly subscriptions will give some important financial stability and reliability to the Dublin Event Guide and are therefore very much appreciated! (Look for the RED subscription buttons at the bottom of the Donation Page.)

In case the donation page doesn’t work for you, the old links are here: You can donate via www.paypal.me/DublinEventGuide or for Revolut users among you, just use @joergbrb or now also revolut.me/joergbrb
(If possible, please send your full name and e-mail address as a message with the payment via PayPal or Revolut so that I can tell you about bonuses for donors when available.)

To buy one or two or even three virtual coffees for the Dublin Event Guide, come to the “Buy Me a Coffee” page here www.buymeacoffee.com/DublinEventG

And there is one other way to help and it is even free: If you come to www.DublinEventGuide.com and check out some of the ads and click on the ones that you find interesting, that also helps with a few cent! ?

Thank you!!

Sponsorship Opportunity

Do you have a business that needs to get the good word out? This space is available to promote your product or service and – to help your business to reach the Dublin Event Guide community – for the next four weeks my offer is that YOU decide how much you want to donate to the Dublin Event Guide for putting an ad or promotional text here. If you are interested contact dublineventguide@gmail.com with “Sponsorship” in the subject of your mail.
