Dublin Event Guide 838: Culture Unites! — Swords Castle Christmas Market, Enchanted Christmas Market, Christmas Flea Market

Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events)

Culture Unites!

Swords Castle Christmas Market, Enchanted Christmas Market, Christmas Flea Market

Hi!!

The “Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events)” followers are a community. Maybe not a tightly knit community, but nevertheless a community of people with similar interests and I remember being told many times over the years that people who met at events and found out that they both heard about it from the Dublin Event Guide, felt as if they knew each other.

This community is based on tolerance and inclusion and positivity. Neither Nationality nor gender nor ANY other feature or preference is an issue in this community and it will always be like that! I would dare to say that among the 24,000 e-mail subscribers and more than 80,000 Facebook Followers we have people from every nation that is represented in Dublin and everybody is warmly welcome!

What happened last night in Dublin, is shocking, inexplicable, totally unjustifiable and wrong, but it doesn’t define this country or its people. And it also does not define the future societal climate in Ireland.

If people focused on the positive things in other human beings and on positive things in life, they would not wreck anything and they certainly would not wreck their own home!

Unfortunately, though, there are misguided people in every country, but that is where creating positive communities comes in and that is where our Dublin Event Guide community has its place!

There is no way that 200 or so thugs can “win” over thousands and thousands of good people. So let’s spread positive news about humanity in general and about the wonderful multi-facetted culture that we can experience in our great city! Culture unites!!

Thanks so much for all your support over the last week regarding donations!  I am BLOWN AWAY! Whenever we are close to running out of time for the next bill, you pull together and provide amazing help! You helped with the amazing amount of 283 Euro and that means all bills for this month AND for December can be paid without any further concern. That is so amazng! Thank you!! ??

I mentioned last week that I need to migrate to a new E-Mail Service Provider, because the old one (Brevo) has increased their prices hugely. We will either move to INBOX or to Acumbamail. I am testing both at the moment and will let you know when the change will happen, because my e-mails might initially end up in your spam folder after the migration. If you want to subscribe to the Dublin Event Guide e-mail newsletter, go to www.DublinEventGuide.com It is completely free.

Donations in November:
EUR 405

(By the end of the month, this number has to reach or exceed EUR 200 to guarantee the continuation of the Dublin Event Guide.)

If the Dublin Event Guide helps you to find out about free events in Dublin, please help with a donation.

The counter here shows the current donation status. By the end of the month EUR 200 will be subtracted to pay the bills. If more money has been donated, the rest will be carried forward. If donations have stopped below the EUR 200, the missing amount will be carried over.

Last week, sooo many of you came together and I sooo much appreciate your support! A huge thank you to M, Tony, Lorna, Abigail, Sheila, Colette, Siobhan, Diana, Conor, Juliana, Sinead, Mairead, Mary, Ruth, Eileen, Delwen, Jana, Michelle, Aodhan, Mary, Helen!! Your help is much appreciated and is making a difference. Because of you, the Dublin Event Guide continues spreading the word about free events!

After this weekend, there is only one more weekend before the end of the month and we are EUR 80 away from the monthly requirement to pay the bills. On top of that, December is often a tough month for donations and it is also a short month. So I had hoped we would be much further.this month. If you can, please help with a donation! The Dublin Event Guide needs you!

With the above counter you know at all times where we stand and when donating is needed. Donations keep the Dublin Event Guide alive and all donors will also get some additional bonuses.

Here are some more details about donations:
Any amount is appreciated, but if you are looking for a recommendation, then I suggest a donation of 12 Euro per year. – That’s just one Euro per month and you get FOUR Dublin Event Guides for that Euro! If your funds are limited, but you still want to help, you can buy a virtual coffee for just EUR 4. All donations will be used in full for the Dublin Event Guide.

To donate, use the Dublin Event Guide Donation Page here: gturl.eu/DEGdonate. It is really easy to use and uses Stripe’s trustworthy payment processing. You can even sign up for a yearly subscription on the donation page! Yearly subscriptions will give some important financial stability and reliability to the Dublin Event Guide and are therefore very much appreciated! (Look for the RED subscription buttons at the bottom of the Donation Page.)

In case the donation page doesn’t work for you, the old links are here: You can donate via www.paypal.me/DublinEventGuide or for Revolut users among you, just use @joergbrb or now also revolut.me/joergbrb
(If possible, please send your full name and e-mail address as a message with the payment via PayPal or Revolut so that I can tell you about bonuses for donors when available.)

To buy one or two or even three virtual coffees for the Dublin Event Guide, come to the “Buy Me a Coffee” page here www.buymeacoffee.com/DublinEventG

And there is one other way to help and it is even free: If you come to www.DublinEventGuide.com and check out some of the ads and click on the ones that you find interesting, that also helps with a few cent! ?

Thank you!!

+++ Entangled Islands – Ireland & the Caribbean

05 Sept-29 Feb – 10:00-17:00 – EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, chq Building, Customs House Quay, Dublin 1 – Adm: included in normal admission

Discover 400 years of Irish links to the Caribbean in this temporary exhibition (until February 2024) that  tells the stories of a wide range of Irish people who traversed and settled in the Caribbean. It all started in the 17th century, when Irish indentured labourers were among the many thousands transported to work on islands acquired by the English. The Irish in time found their way into positions of power and privilege across the region, whether as plantation owners or colonial governors.
Entangled Islands traces this long and multifaceted history of connection through 19 key figures on either side of the Atlantic, from merchants and enslavers to poets and journalists.
Admission is included in the normal ticket price. Find out more here epicchq.com/entangled-islands/

The lowest price most of the time is EUR 12.99. Sometimes it even goes down further to EUR 9.99 and when that happens (about once or twice a year), I will tell you. But even 12.99 is definitely a good price for what you get! – Check out the website at www.getthislink.com/Udemy22 And if you buy through that link, you also help the Dublin Event Guide! :-)
