Dublin Event Guide 719: I am blown away! – A busy week with Heritage Week 2021, Round Room 200 and more!

Dublin Event Guide (for free events)

I am blown away!

A busy week with Heritage Week 2021, Round Room 200 and more!

Hi all!

Last week I wrote that I was amazed about your strong support and the fact that nine people immediately stepped up to ensure that the Dublin Event Guide will continue, was so great to see. But it got soo much better! Since last weekend, 19 more people helped with donations and we didn’t just cover all the cost for August already, but also more than half of the cost for September. I am BLOWN away! :-)

Thank you for the strong and definite message that you want the Dublin Event Guide to stay here and to come to your Inbox every week! I will deliver! :-)

Last week the people that decided to make a difference were Simon, Molly, Ernesta, Kaja, Ann, Gerard, Claire, Anita, Geri, Rachel, Edmond, Ellen, Maciej, Valerie, Jennifer, Dulce, Marguerite, Brian and Jana. You are amazing! Thanks so much! Your donation has arrived and you are appreciated!!

The donation counter below has been updated and it is looking good. Phew!! I have now two options: I can either stop the donation drive and then start again in September OR I keep it fully transparent, leave the counter there so that you know at all times where we stand and keep the donation option there. I will go for the second option and I am also working on some additional bonuses, which will be available to the people that have donated. Watch this space!! It will be good!

For the people reading this on Facebook (www.facebook.com/DublinEventGuide) and not on the Dublin Event Guide website (www.DublinEventGuide.com) or in your Inbox, you should know that the Facebook version of the Dublin Event Guide will contain all weekend events, but NOT the whole range of events that happen on weekdays. If you do not want to miss out, then either subscribe to the e-mail newsletter on the Dublin Event Guide website so that you get it sent to your Inbox or check the weekday events on the website!

Donations in August:

EUR 308

(By the end of the month, this number has to reach or exceed EUR 200 to guarantee the continuation of the Dublin Event Guide.)

If the Dublin Event Guide helps you to find out about free events in Dublin, please help with a donation.

The counter on the left shows the current donation status. By the end of the month we need to reach or exceed EUR 200 so that I can pay the bills. If more money will be donated, I will carry it forward. If donations stopped below the minimum amount, the amount missing will be carried over.

And here are some more details about donations:
Any amount is appreciated, but If you are looking for a recommendation, then I suggest a donation of 12 Euro per year. – That’s just one Euro per month and you get FOUR Dublin Event Guides for that! If your funds are limited, but you still want to help, you can buy a virtual coffee for just EUR 3. All donations will be used in full for the Dublin Event Guide.

To donate, use the Dublin Event Guide Donation Page here: gturl.eu/DEGdonate. It is really easy to use and uses Stripe’s trustworthy payment processing. You can even sign up for a yearly subscription on the donation page! Yearly subscriptions will give some important financial stability and reliability to the Dublin Event Guide and are therefore very much appreciated! (Look for the RED subscription buttons at the bottom of the Donation Page.)

In case the donation page doesn’t work for you, the old links are here: You can donate via www.paypal.me/DublinEventGuide or for Revolut users among you, just use @joergbrb

To buy one or two or even three virtual coffees for the Dublin Event Guide, come to the “Buy Me a Coffee” page here www.buymeacoffee.com/DublinEventG

And there is one other way to help and it is even free: If you come to www.DublinEventGuide.com and check out some of the ads and click on the ones that you find interesting, that also helps with a few cent! ?

Thank you!!

And there is more…

+++ HERITAGE WEEK 2021
The National Heritage Week, organised by the Heritage Council, will take place from 14-22 August. Its purpose is to build awareness about the value of heritage and support its conservation.
There are 772 events listed on the “projects” website at www.heritageweek.ie/projects and many of them are online events. In the Greater Dublin area 121 events will happen and you can see them by checking this page www.heritageweek.ie/projects?q=&where%5B%5D=dublin-city&where%5B%5D=dublin-dunlaoghaire-rathdown&where%5B%5D=dublin-fingal&where%5B%5D=dublin-south#listings Unfortunately there is no filter that allows you to filter for online events only, so you will have to search among all 772 events, but there are some really good things happening, so take the time.
I have listed a few events in the listings above, but there are just toooo many to list them all.

+++ Free SUMMER FITNESS in South County Dublin
The Free Summer Fitness events, organised by the South Dublin County Sports Partnership, are continuing. Last week I listed all events, but it is a long long list, so this week I have the link to that list for you here
www.eventbrite.ie/o/south-dublin-county-sports-partnership-29148923093 so that you can check out the events and register directly.

+++ National Gallery tickets available here
The National Gallery is usually free anyway, but in current times you will have to book tickets to get access and you have to enter the building on the Merrion Street side. Tickets are available here: www.nationalgallery.ie/visit-us/book-your-ticket The National Gallery also is running events again and because the events have limited number of spaces, they can book out relatively fast, at least before I can write about the events, so check out the events 1-2 weeks in advance here www.nationalgallery.ie/whats-on and then book tickets for them.

+++ Visit Dublin Castle for free
Until the end of 2021, entry to Dublin Castle is free for all visitors. You will be able to visit the State Apartments on a self-guided tour. There are currently no guided tours and therefore the Medieval Undercroft and Chapel Royal are not accessible. Opening hours are Mon-Sun & Bank Holidays: 09:45-17:45 (last admission 17:15). Tickets can be booked at dublincastle.admit-one.eu/?p=calendar&ev=SELFGUIDE for free there will also a limited number of tickets available at the ticket desk.

+++ LEARN A NEW SKILL WITH ONLINE COURSES
Is there ever a wrong time for learning a new skill or enhancing what you are already interested in? Maybe it is a language or an instrument or some technical skills? Or NLP or some Business related “soft skills”? Check out Udemy via the link below, they have thousands of courses and there is good chance that what you are looking for is available. Nearly all the courses are REALLY affordable!
The lowest cost for courses this month will be around 12.99. Check out the website at shor.by/GqCk And if you buy through that link, you also help the Dublin Event Guide! :-)

+++ Low Priced Books with free delivery
Book Depository is the place where you can buy low priced books, usually for better prices than on Amazon and Book Depository always delivers for free. And by buying books from Book Depository you will also help the Dublin Event Guide for no additional cost to you. Use this link: shor.by/BookDepository
  .

And this is it for another week! Have a great weekend and good new week.

Take care,

–Joerg (dublineventguide@gmail.com)
