Dublin Event Guide 714: Missing the best festival again! But there is hope! — Events for kids and teenagers, Botanic Gardens Tours, Online Bastille Day, Inside Out Summer Library Events

Dublin Event Guide (for free events)

Missing the best festival again! But let’s hope!

Events for kids and teenagers, Botanic Gardens Tours,
Online Bastille Day, Summer Library Events

Hi all!

Two and three and four and many more years ago, this weekend was the weekend of the City Spectacular (or formerly, the Street Performance World Championship). For years it was this amazing summer festival in Merrion Square with some of the best Street Performers from all over the world. There was the Space Cowboy from Australia, Mario Queen of the Circus from “all over there” ..as he put it.. and Pedro Tochas from Portugal and many others.

Thousands of people were filling Merrion Square and laughed and clapped and cheered on and had a GREAT Saturday and Sunday. It was weekend I never missed since 2006…until lockdowns messed up with the world as we knew it.

But I am hopeful! VERY hopeful! …that the City Spectacular will be back in 2022.

Unfortunately, like many pubs and shops, many festivals and events that we new and loved will bite the dust after normal life will return. That will be a pity and will leave a huge gap, but if it happens, it will give other people an opportunity to fill the void.

As I mentioned previously, the Irish government is providing funding for a whole range of outdoor events between now and September and the Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events) will do its best to tell you about all of them. ;-)

So, stick with the Dublin Event Guide! ;-) Keep supporting this weekly publication by signing up to the weekly e-mail, by adding your feedback and clicking on one (or even all) Facebook links underneath the post and in return there will be heaps of free event listings here for you week after week.

You can sign up to the weekly Dublin Event Guide e-mail here: www.DublinEventGuide.com

As you know, the Dublin Event Guide is a free service. You don’t have to pay a cent for receiving it, but – like all the free events that are happening every week – NOTHING is really completely free. The Dublin Event Guide has monthly cost of approx. EUR 200. It was originally EUR 250, but a super generous donor offered to cover 50 per month some month ago.

For the remaining 200 I am trying to get help from you, the readers. I have a “Tip Jar” and your tip will help keeping the Dublin Event Guide alive. Any amount is appreciated, but If you are looking for a recommendation, then I suggest a donation of 12 Euro per year. – That’s just one Euro per month and you get FOUR Dublin Event Guides for that. If your funds are limited, but you still want to help, you can buy a virtual coffee. I won’t actually drink the coffee, but will use the money for the Dublin Event Guide.

For donations, use the Dublin Event Guide Donation Page here: gturl.eu/DEGdonate. It is really easy to use and uses Stripe’s trustworthy payment processing. In case it doesn’t work for you, the old links are below and can also be used. You can even sign up for a yearly subscription on the donation page! Yearly subscriptions will give some important financial stability and reliability to the Dublin Event Guide and are therefore very much appreciated! (Look for the RED subscription buttons at the bottom of the Donation Page.)

You can donate here via www.paypal.me/DublinEventGuide or for Revolut users among you, just use @joergbrb

To buy one or two or even three virtual coffees (or Hot Chocolates!) for the Dublin Event Guide, come to the “Buy Me a Coffee” page here www.buymeacoffee.com/DublinEventG

Finally, there is also another way to help and it is even free: If you come to www.DublinEventGuide.com and check out some of the ads and click on the ones that you find interesting, that also helps with a few cent! ?

Thank you!!

Tickets are available here: www.nationalgallery.ie/visit-us/book-your-ticket The National Gallery also is running events again and because the events have limited number of spaces, they can book out relatively fast, at least before I can write about the events, so check out the events 1-2 weeks in advance here www.nationalgallery.ie/whats-on and then book tickets for them.

And this is it for another week! Have a great weekend and good new week.

Take care,

–Joerg (dublineventguide@gmail.com)
