Hi all!

It has happened! The Christmas Lights were quietly and secretly turned on in Dublin, the Santas are landing in every shopping centre (Get back and finish the production of presents!) and the Pre-Christmas time has firmly arrived (No waiting for the first of December.).

In Grafton Street, the smart people from Dublintown (a well funded trader organisation that takes their money from all the shops in the City Centre…on top of the Dublin City Rates/Taxes) and is in charge of the Christmas lights because Dublin City is not interested, came up with the probably-not-so-bright idea to replace the “Nollaig Shona Duit” sign at the entrance of Grafton Street with a boring-looking and boring-sounding “Welcome to Grafton Quarter” sign instead. (No, “Grafton Quarter” doesn’t exist, it is called Grafton Street!) And people got quite outraged about the nonsensical and unnecessary change.

What do you think?
Do you prefer “Nollaig Shona Duit” (twitter.com/northstar_hotel/status/1194302340809052162) or “Welcome to Grafton Quarter” (twitter.com/daraobriain/status/1194749156205694976)? Make your opinion known on www.facebook.com/DublinEventGuide

Here in this Dublin Event Guide it doesn’t really matter what it says on the sign, the focus is totally on free events all over Dublin. And if you like free events and want to make sure that this weekly publication continues, than your support will be required and is appreciated. It is really easy and doesn’t cost you a cent!

Just a few clicks/taps that take less than 30 seconds and you helped hugely! Your few clicks keep the Dublin Event Guide going!

This is how the support works and it is really super easy:
Just go to www.DublinEventGuide.com and at the top you will find the sentence “Is this what you were looking for?”. Right below that sentence you should find a rectangular ad. Please click on it!
The ad might change every time you open/refresh the page, so I can’t tell you what it is promoting. And if you don’t see an ad there, please turn your Ad Blocker off and refresh the page and then do the clicking. ;-) Thanks!
If you click on the ad, I get between 5 and 30 cent. That is not much, but if enough people help, it will do the job to cover the cost to keep the Dublin Event Guide going. Some people have asked me for the Dublin Event Guide PayPal link for direct donations and here it is: www.paypal.me/DublinEventGuide

And now we come to some of this weekend’s free events. All events are sorted by start time, but watch out for the few events that have a “++” in front of them, the are particularly recommended. ;-) ALL events in this list are free, but some require booking! The market events that take place every week are only posted on the website at www.dublineventguide.com
