Hi all!

Long-term followers of the “Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events)” might have read this story before, but new subscribers regularly ask me who I am and why I am doing this, so super brief, here is some background.

I, that is Joerg Steegmueller, started compiling the Dublin Event Guide in 2007 :-O because a brilliant free event in Dublin wasn’t really visited by as many people as you would have expected. When I looked into the WHY, I found out that many people who would have been interested, just didn’t know. And I discovered that free events are not well promoted. So initially this mail just went to 10 of my friends, but then more and more people told their friends and so on and it grew to over 24,000 recipients of the weekly Dublin Event Guide.
In December of last year, after 600 editions, I decided to retire the Dublin Event Guide to focus on other things, but I couldn’t stay away for long, so since March it is back. Smaller, different and only focusing on weekend events, but still back. I will take a bit of a break over Christmas and into the early part of the new year, but as long as you support this weekly free-events-compilation, I will continue.

I don’t make any money from it, but your help for paying the bills is much appreciated and helping doesn’t cost you a cent. All you need to do is a few clicks/taps that takes less than 30 seconds. It keeps the Dublin Event Guide going!

This is how the support works and it is really super easy:
Just go to www.DublinEventGuide.com and at the top you will find the sentence “Is this what you were looking for?”. Right below that sentence you should find a rectangular ad. Please click on it!
The ad might change every time you open/refresh the page, so I can’t tell you what it is promoting. And if you don’t see an ad there, please turn your Ad Blocker off and refresh the page and then do the clicking. ;-) Thanks!
If you click on the ad, I get between 5 and 30 cent. That is not much, but if enough people help, it will do the job to cover the cost to keep the Dublin Event Guide going. Some people have asked me for the Dublin Event Guide PayPal link for direct donations and here it is: www.paypal.me/DublinEventGuide

And now we come to some of this weekend’s free events. All events are sorted by start time, but watch out for the few events that have a “++” in front of them, the are particularly recommended. ;-) ALL events in this list are free, but some require booking! The market events that take place every week are only posted on the website at www.dublineventguide.com
