Have you heard about ChatGPT? It is currently mentioned everywhere. (…at least in all the media channels that I read.) ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence (AI) interface that can write all sorts of text for you. I played around with it during the week and WOW! It is soooo powerful and at the same time soo spooky (because it is so smart!)

I tried to get ChatGPT to write a book for me. And within a few minutes, I didn’t just have a book outline, a list of suggested chapters and a catchy book title, no, I even had some of the content for most chapters written by this AI interface.
|
|
|
|
It was a bit repetitive, relatively simple in structure, but definitely usable as a framework. Really really interesting and promising. ChatGPT is currently still free during the trial period, but I am sure it will cost something soon, so if you are interested, try it out as soon as possible on chat.openai.com/

A market on Saturday and Sunday (11:00-17:00) with stalls, food providers, 5 workshops each day (no booking required) and three tours each day (Booking required, tours are not free). It is one of the first out door events this year, so go and have a great day. +++ “Monumental Ireland” – photo exhibition captures the beauty of Ireland’s ancient past
On show just from 08-12 Feb, this photo exhibition in Printworks at Dublin Castle offers new perspectives on Ireland’s ancient monuments. The exhibition highlights both the resilience of these monuments and their vulnerability.
The exhibition is curated by the National Monuments Service (NMS) in partnership with the Office of Public Works (OPW). It includes over 100 images and 7 videos and features a remarkable new video of the world-renowned Winter Solstice phenomenon at Newgrange passage tomb, captured in 2021.

+++ Discover Dublin Docklands App
Dublin City has a new app that allows us to discover iconic Dublin landmarks such as the famine statues, the CHQ building and more.
The app is available to download for free via doorsintodocklands.com/
After you got the app, you can point your phone at the landmarks and this will prompt the related images, videos and stories to pop up.
The app uses Augmented Reality (AR), a mix of 3D graphics, animation and audio, to immerse users in the story of the city.
Several colourful characters from history will also appear in AR to tell their tales. These include Captain Bligh who surveyed Dublin Bay in the 1800s and Maggie Doyle, who was a docker’s daughter.

The “Housing Unlocked” exhibition is described as a celebration of innovation, optimism and imagination. Eight architect-led proposals will be presented that are intended to unlock the housing potential in our villages, towns and cities.
Housing Unlocked is a partnership between the Irish Architecture Foundation and The Housing Agency.
The exhibition will be open from 14 Oct-18 Dec and from 03-17 Feb (Tues-Fri: 12:00-17:00, Sat: 14:00-17:00). It will take place in the former Science Gallery in Pearse Street (Naughton Institute of TCD). Admission is free. housingunlocked.ie/
