This week I am writing the Dublin Event Guide surrounded by boxes and with a very long list of things I should probably be doing instead. I am in the middle of moving apartments and could certainly use every spare hour. But Friday night is Friday night and the Dublin Event Guide still has to happen. ;-)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

We are now into August and you can feel that the huge wave of events we had throughout July is beginning to calm down a little. There are still plenty of things happening, just not quite at the relentless summer-festival pace of a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

For families, there are still a few weeks of school holidays left, so summer certainly isn’t finished yet.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

+++ The Day The World Rocked: Live Aid – Guided Tour <\/strong>
\nEvery Friday at 14:00 and every Saturday at 11:00 a guided tour of the National Photographic Archive Exhibition “The Day The World Rocked: Live Aid” will take place. Live Aid was a world wide event in 1985 when two concerts took place simultaneously in London and Philadelphia with the intention to collect money to feed the world. Many of the greatest Pop and Rock performers of the time took part, from Status Quo to Joan Baez, Queen to Phil Collins and U2 to Madonna. Discover images and stories from Live Aid donated by Bob Geldof to the National Library of Ireland.

\nEvery week, the Dublin City Council Culture Company organises cultural events in venues in Dublin. They are events in addition to the normal events in museums, galleries and other venues. All events are free, but access is by registration only. And these events are POPULAR!! \nIkea in Ballymun runs a variety of crafting, music and cooking workshops it is always worh checking out. The workshops are free and usually go for 45 minutes. They are always for children, but the age is often not fixed. There are specific Toddler and baby workshops at times as well.
