We often like to complain about the Irish summer. It can be unpredictable, fleeting and occasionally leaves us wondering if it arrived at all. But every now and then, we get a longer period where we have at least 18\/19 degrees like at the moment. The sun shows its face at times, the temperatures are ok and Dublin just feels like a great place to be. Not too hot, not too cold, just right. A Goldilocks summer that lets us enjoy the city without the need to search for shade or air conditioning.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

While we make the most of these summery days (and occasionally run away from a heavy shower), it’s hard not to notice what’s happening across the rest of Europe. Temperatures soaring to above 40 degrees, heatwaves breaking records and making daily life a real challenge.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Suddenly, our cool Irish summer feels like a blessing in disguise. We may not have Mediterranean beaches or endless sunshine but we also don\u2019t have to hide indoors to escape the heat.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ Liberties Festival<\/strong>
\nFrom 21-27 July the Liberties Festival will take place and it is one of the oldest festivals in Dublin. There will be a huge amount of events and the vast majority of events are free. Booking is required for many of the events, so you it is advisable that you a already now have a look at the list of events. When you do that, you will see that there are many events that are free, but that list a “Suggested Donation” price. Where you see that, the event is free, but to finance the festival, people that can afford it, are invited to donate.

+++ Exploring The Orchestra – Neuro-Divergent Friendly Music Camp<\/strong>
\nFrom Monday to Friday a music camp for neurodivergent young people will take place. It will be an introduction to classical music, the orchestra groups and classical instruments.
\nYou have to book the timeslot and that will be your timeslot for the whole week (07-11 July). The available times are 10:00, 12:00 or 14:00. Admission is free. Booking is required. The Music camp will be run by the Royal Academy of Music and will take place in their Whyte Recital Hall in 36-38 Westland Row, Dublin 2. +++ The Ballsbridge Beetle<\/strong>
\nThe first Volkswagen Beetle that was manufactured outside of Germany was assembled 75 years ago in Ballsbridge. It was a green Beetle Type 1 and that car is today in the Zeithaus Museum in Wolfsburg, Germany, where the Volkswagen headquarter is.
\nFor three days this Beetle will be shown in Dublin but only is the weather is absolutely perfect with 100% guarantee that there will be no rain.
\nThe location where the beetle will be shown is in the courtyard of Collins Barracks and originally it was meant to be on show on the first Saturday of June, July and August. +++ The Ballsbridge Beetle<\/strong>
\nThe first Volkswagen Beetle that was manufactured outside of Germany was assembled 75 years ago in Ballsbridge. It was a green Beetle Type 1 and that car is today in the Zeithaus Museum in Wolfsburg, Germany, where the Volkswagen headquarter is.
\nFor three days this Beetle will be shown in Dublin but only is the weather is absolutely perfect with 100% guarantee that there will be no rain.
\nThe location where the beetle will be shown is in the courtyard of Collins Barracks and originally it was meant to be on show on the first Saturday of June, July and August. \nIkea in Ballymun runs a variety of crafting, music and cooking workshops it is always worh checking out. The workshops are free and usually go for 45 minutes. They are always for children, but the age is often not fixed. There are specific Toddler and baby workshops at times as well.
