This is a big weekend for the Mother’s of Ireland and I know that many of you make an effort to look after your mother’s extra well on this day. Only fair, I’d say. The sacrifices and hardship mother’s endure to have children are tremendous.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

And I am not just talking about making food for their children and washing their clothes (until they are well grown up in many cases ;-) ). I am also talking about the brutal 9 months of carrying a child, the birth, the health effects that come with being a woman, the monthly pains, the craziness that is menopause and so many more things.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

I am convinced that if men had to have babies, the whole “process” would have long been re-organised\/automated. Why? Because we are useless when it comes to dealing with any sort of pain! Alternatively, (and this is more likely ;-) ) the population would be extinct.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Oh and by the way, I think Mother’s Day should not be limited to mother’s, but we should extend it to future mothers and even potential mothers (in future or past).<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

This Sunday, only a few countries celebrate Mother’s Day. This is what I do and feel free to borrow it: I ring my mother this Sunday AND on Mother’s Day in Germany (in May). I just thank her twice! She is happy about this! ;-)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Amazon has properly arrived in Ireland<\/h1>\n

It took a while, but pushed forward by Brexit, Ireland now finally got an own Amazon website. Amazon.ie went live last week and is ready for your purchases.
\nThe fans of Amazon will be thrilled about a 1-day delivery (for many items) and an Ireland-focused Amazon Prime for just EUR 6.99 per month. (If you have Prime with Amazon UK, you can easily transfer to Amazon.ie) They will also love the lower prices than from Amazon UK for many products and the lower delivery charges than from Amazon DE, where until now the lowest prices were available.

\nApril is the month of “One Dublin One Book”. Every year a book is chosen and this book is the focus for the whole month with lots of events around that book.
\nThis year, the chosen book is “Dublin, written in our hearts” and it contains fiction, poetry, essays and memoir pieces collated in celebration of Dublin. The book features work from a whol erange of authors:

\nEvery week, the Dublin City Council Culture Company organises cultural events in venues in Dublin. They are events in addition to the normal events in museums, galleries and other venues. All events are free, but access is by registration only. And these events are POPULAR!! So when I get to checking them out on the Friday before they take place, the most interesting ones are usually already booked out. \nIkea in Ballymun runs a variety of crafting, music and cooking workshops it is always worh checking out. The workshops are free and usually go for 45 minutes. They are always for children, but the age is often not fixed. There are specific Toddler and baby workshops at times as well.
