Happy St. Patrick’s Day weekend! This weekend is the biggest event weekend in Ireland and this year there is not ONE main event location as in the last two years (which was Collins Barracks), but the official St Patrick’s Festival events are spread out over a whole number of venues in Dublin.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

I think this is a better idea than ONE venue with two (or more) stages. Collins Barracks was a good bit away from the centre, the distance between the city event locations is not that far.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

And the best thing is that the weather seems to play ball. It will be quite cold (is just my feeling or is it colder than usually on a St. Patrick’s Day?) but there will be lot of sun and no (or very very little rain).<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

So now it is over to you: Go out, experience the great events on Saturday and Sunday!! :-)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

As far as the parade on Monday is concerned, it is a bit of a love it or hate it kind of a situation. The huge crowds along the parade route mean that you have to be there REALLY early or you will see NOTHING. If you want to see the parade well, I am afraid, but the best place is at your TV at home. The atmosphere DURING the parade can be great in the city centre, but don’t expect to see much. My strong suggestion is to leave the city centre immediately after the parade or alternatively go directly to the Ceili Mor, which will take place from 14:00-17:00 on Merrion Square West.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ St Patrick’s Festival 2025<\/strong>
\nSt. Patrick’s Day is on Monday and this year’s Festival will run from 15-17 March from Saturday until Monday. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be on Monday from 12:00 along the usual route\u00a0\u00a0and all details are here https:\/\/stpatricksfestival.ie\/events\/parade<\/a>
\nAfter the parade, the popular Ceili Mor, a traditional Irish dance, language and music event will take place from 14:00-17:00 on Merrion Square West (https:\/\/stpatricksfestival.ie\/events\/ceili<\/a>).

\nThe best about the St. Patrick’s Festival this year are the huge amount of events that take place on Sat (15 March) and on Sunday (16 March) throughout the city.
