For many many years Dublin is my home. I am born and grew up in Germany, but then came to Ireland over 20 years ago. And for over 17 years I write about free cultural events in Dublin every single week. So I know our great city pretty well. (Although, you will ALWAYS be just a “blow-in” when you move to Ireland. ;-) )<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

This is what I do year after year: On at least one day per year (often more than one day) I move into full tourist mode. That means I visit our Dublin as if I was a tourist. Visit some of the amazing sites: Museums, galleries, sites, venues and do what I would do if I came here as a weekend visitor.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Why? Because we often take for granted what we have close to home. If you went to Paris or Madrid or Berlin, you would check out the sights and pack your days full of activities. Maybe you would take the sightseeing bus and then stopped off in all or some of the worth-visiting sites. You should do the same in Dublin. Because I bet that many of you have not been to some of the sites recently.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

National Museum? National Gallery? Hugh Lane Gallery? Chester Beatty Museum? Irish Museum of Modern Art? Richmond Barracks? National Print Museum? When have you been there last?
