Now we are all hoping for this mysterious “Indian summer”. Nobody really knows why it is called “Indian summer”, but it is a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs in autumn. In Ireland it usually happens in the firt few weeks in September, so PLEASE, dear weather gods, give us some nice warm and dry weather. I think we deserve it!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Over the last few weeks I kept talking about the “Introduction to AI and ChatGPT” course that I was giving and it finally happened last Wednesday. 170 people registered for it, but as it always happens for free events, many didn’t make it in the end. But that’s ok!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

We had a FULL Zoom room and the comments after the event blew me away: “Very interesting couple of hours!” or “This was invaluable. Thank you so much!” or “I enjoyed every minute.” or “Really interesting and thought provoking presentation, it was really engaging!”<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

So, it seems that I didn’t do a terrible job. ;-) Because a good few people missed it who were registered AND because maybe some more would like to attend, I am wondering if there is interest to run it again. \nSaturday 02 Sept is National Cinema Day in 2023 and that means that all movies in participating cinemas are just EUR 4 all day. I would imagine that the cinemas are packed on the day and it might be difficult getting tickets, but you never know. +++ Minaw Collective’s 10 Year Anniversary Street Art Exhibition<\/strong>
\nThus exhibition is a celebration of a decade of artistic accomplishments of the all-female street artists collective who have made Dublin (and other places in Ireland) a much prettier, more inspirational and happier place. You might have never heard of the Minaw Collective, but you probably have seen their huge paintings on buildings. have a look at the gallery on their website https:\/\/www.minawcollective.com\/gallery<\/a> to recognise some of the art that is full of energy and vibrancy.
\nThe exhibition will run throughout September and on Saturday 09 Sept from 13:00-18:00 you are invited to the launch and a spoken word poetry night at Phase Art Space, 27 Garville Lane, Rathgar, Dublin 6. +++ Sculpture in Context 2023\u00a0<\/strong>
\nSculpture in Context is the largest sculpture exhibition in Ireland and it is running for 35 years already. It always takes place in the National Botanic Gardens and there will be more than 120 artists exhibiting. The exhibition will run from Thu 07 Sept to Fri 13 Oct.
\nThe National Botanic Gardens are worth a visit any time of the year, but when the Sculpture in Context exhibition is on, the gardens are EVEN more interesting.

\nA long-term supporter of the Dublin Event Guide told me about an exhibition that she thinks is worth checking out:
\n“The Valley Below” photographic exhibition at Farmleigh (in the cowshed theatre) is running Tuesday – Sunday from 22\u00a0August – 17\u00a0September (11:00-17:00). \u00dana O\u2019Connor – a photographer from Palmerstown, Dublin – documents her native Mill Lane, which is nestled in the Liffey Valley area of Dublin and overlooked by the Farmleigh Clock tower.
