How are you doing today? Is is another weekend and like every weekend there are plenty of free events that I have collated for you and listed below. (AND I had a technical problem again, which delayed me.\u00a0?<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

How is your “event consumption” going? I was talking to a friend last week who told me that she is going to a LOT less events now than before the “Great Lockdown” a few years ago.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Do you experience the same? Maybe we got used to consuming less culture? Maybe we got a little lazier? Or maybe it was just a break in the routine that impacted our weekends? Or maybe you are not finding the events anymore that you were always interested in?<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Whatever the reason is, if you feel that you are going to less events, I suggest that you try to find out your personal reason for it and then check if that is really what you want.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

One problem that this inward looking will not solve is the regrettable fact that there are a good few less free events than before the lockdown. As you know, I am keeping a close eye on all free events and I see a lot less events now. Especially free gigs in pubs largely disappeared in the key venues, like Whelan’s, Grand Social, Sin E, Workman’s Club, etc.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

So what can we do? There are two options! We can go to different places or change the events we go to or we will have to pay. Whatever is right for you, YOU need to decide. But I will make sure that you will always be informed about the high-quality cultural events that happen in Dublin! And Dublin is ALWAYS busy! ;-)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Borders change and move within time and space, depending on political and economic events. Nowadays, they emerge across diverse places and in different shapes, impacting our individual and collective lives.
\nAlthough we are meant to be in a globalised world, borders are being reactivated and strengthened for some people while they open and disappear for others.

Designed by the Mus\u00e9e national de l\u2019histoire de l\u2019immigration (French National Museum of the History of Immigration), this exhibition draws on historic, geographical, economic and human perspectives. It is an invitation to deepen our understanding of how borders are constructed and evolve, beyond the dichotomy between open or closed, nationals and foreigners, economic migrants and political refugees. The cartographic work raises the issue of orders of magnitude, of proportions in representations, and highlights the relativity of data.

\n<\/strong>For the 16th time, the Five Lamps Arts Festival will take place in the North Inner City Area around the Five Lamps, a street lantern at a 5-street junction in Amiens Street, Dublin 1. The festival will run from 13-31 March and will come with lots of events and many of them are free. +++ Bad News: Natural History Museum (a.k.a. Dead Zoo) to close for 5 years
\n<\/strong>The much loved Natural History Museum in Merrion Street was only re-opened in August after a 2 year closure for renovations and now it has emerged that later this year the museum will close again for further renovations and this time the closure could take up to 5 years. https:\/\/www.thejournal.ie\/dublin-dead-zoo-6019318-Mar2023\/<\/a>
\nMy recommendation is to go rather sooner than later to visit it once again, especially if you have kids. (Independent from their current age, your kids might be finished with college and have kids of their own by the time the museum re-opens again. ;-) \u00a0)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nDublin City has a new app that allows us to discover iconic Dublin landmarks such as the famine statues, the CHQ building and more.

\nAfter you got the app, you can point your phone at the landmarks and this will prompt the related images, videos and stories to pop up.
