Good news (I hope!!!): It is still me behind the wheel here, writing the weekly Dublin Event Guide for you. The robots or Artificial Intelligence devices have not yet taken over.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Did you see that this is the 797th edition of the Dublin Event Guide? I know, that might not mean that much to you, but for me it is 797 weeks of spending HOURS on searching for events and putting them into this list. 797 weeks amounts to nearly 16 years (There was a little break a few years ago when I had decided to stop this whole project but then continued.)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

With the 800th edition coming up so soon, I need your help. What do you suggest I should do to celebrate? Organise an event for you all? Just jump three times up and down? Get drunk on Hot Chocolate? Go our for dinner with friends?<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

I will consider ALL suggestions and am hoping for many! And I will tell you next week what was suggested. Maybe I will decide or maybe I will let you decide what I should do. We’ll see how challenging or “daring” your suggestions are. ;-)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

This week there are lots of events happening in Dublin, but there are no really big events. At first this is a little disappointing, but keep in mind that lots of small rain drops also manage to get you soaking wet. LOL I am kidding! :-)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What I really want to express is that many small events can still amount to a great experience in our busy and buzzing Dublin. And we know that the headline events will be back soon again.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ \u201cMonumental Ireland\u201d \u2013 photo exhibition captures the beauty of Ireland\u2019s ancient past
\n<\/strong>On show just from 08-12 Feb (10:00-17:00), this photo exhibition in Printworks at Dublin Castle offers new perspectives on Ireland\u2019s ancient monuments. The exhibition highlights both the resilience of these monuments and their vulnerability.
\nThe exhibition is curated by the National Monuments Service (NMS) in partnership with the Office of Public Works (OPW). It includes over 100 images and 7 videos and features a remarkable new video of the world-renowned Winter Solstice phenomenon at Newgrange passage tomb, captured in 2021.

+++ Housing Unlocked Exhibition<\/strong>
\nThe “Housing Unlocked” exhibition is described as a celebration of innovation, optimism and imagination. Eight architect-led proposals will be presented that are intended to unlock the housing potential in our villages, towns and cities.
\nHousing Unlocked is a partnership between the Irish Architecture Foundation and The Housing Agency.
\nThe exhibition will be open from 14 Oct-18 Dec and from 03-17 Feb (Tues-Fri: 12:00-17:00, Sat: 14:00-17:00). It will take place in the former Science Gallery in Pearse Street (Naughton Institute of TCD). Admission is free. https:\/\/housingunlocked.ie\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ Discover Dublin Docklands App<\/strong>
\nDublin City has a new app that allows us to discover iconic Dublin landmarks such as the famine statues, the CHQ building and more.
\nThe app is available to download for free via\u00a0https:\/\/doorsintodocklands.com\/<\/a>
\nAfter you got the app, you can point your phone at the landmarks and this will prompt the related images, videos and stories to pop up.
\nThe app uses Augmented Reality (AR), a mix of 3D graphics, animation and audio, to immerse users in the story of the city.
\nSeveral colourful characters from history will also appear in AR to tell their tales. These include Captain Bligh who surveyed Dublin Bay in the 1800s and Maggie Doyle, who was a docker’s daughter.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
