In the UK they called it “Freedom Day” and we shook our heads. ;-) But nobody can deny that we also look forward to 22 October when all restrictions will be lifted. (Obviously (!?) apart form the restrictions that will not get lifted. :-D )<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Events will be back! Yay! Live music will be back! Yay! Dancing at weddings will be back! Yay! Going to restaurants and pubs without any certs will be back! Yay! But the going back to offices?? The opinion is very much divided! Some can’t wait, others got very used to the advantages of not having to commute.<\/p>\n

So there needs to be some adjustment again to the “new normal” which VERY much will look like the old normal as it seems right now. Some people were hoping that the 18 months break from our old life will have taught us something, but that doesn’t look too probable.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Speaking of teaching!? Many of us need to learn again!<\/p>\n

Since Facebook messed up their Events directory, I will need to learn again how to find live events. :-O<\/p>\n

And more about re-learning: On Wednesday I got a Press Release from a well-known events organiser, telling me about a whole range of interesting events in Dublin, but the author forgot to add the start times for nearly all of them. Oops! ;-)

\nFrom Sat 11 – Sun 19 September, this year’s Dublin Community Clean-up will take place. Dublin’s Four Local Authorities, Clean Coasts, National Spring Clean, Local Authority Waters Programme, Dublin City Canals, Dodder Action, residents, volunteers and community groups are coming together and your help is needed. Find out more and register on https:\/\/dublincommunitycleanup.ie\/ <\/a>In 2019 more than 1500 volunteers got involved. The 2020 event had to be cancelled but for this year it is hoped that at least the 2019 amount of people will be found again.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ CULTURE NIGHT 2021 – Don’t miss it!<\/strong>
\nYes, the news is good! Culture Night will take place again this year and while it will be a sort of lockdown-influenced version with a lot of online events because Culture Night is happening 3 days before the key date of 20 Sept. So lots of online events, but there will also definitely be real life events as well. The Real life events have limited spaces though and they will book out super fast. So check out the programme at https:\/\/culturenight.ie\/<\/a> and book as fast as possible for the 17 September.
\nIf you have never heard of Culture Night then let me tell you that (in normal times) it is the best cultural event of the year. An evening (from 17:00-22:00 or 23:00) when galleries, museums and other cultural venues are open all over Ireland. Dublin was regularly buzzing with events, and people and excitement. It is the 16th year of Culture Night this year and hopefully next year all will be back to the great evening we experienced for 14 years.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ SCULPTURE\u00a0IN CONTEXT – National Botanic Gardens<\/strong>
\nThe Sculpture\u00a0in Context exhibition is taking place again this year in the National Botanic Gardens. It is a great exhibition where sculptures are “planted” in lots of different places in the Botanic Gardens, making the park even more interesting. The exhibition will run from 02 Sept-15 Oct, so there is plenty of time to see it, but put it on your list, otherwise you will leave it to the last weekend (as I have done tooo often in the past ;-) ). http:\/\/www.sculptureincontext.com\/ Admission to the National Botanic Gardens is always free and opening hours are 10:00-17:00 every day of the week.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ National Gallery tickets available here<\/strong>
\nThe National Gallery is usually free anyway, but in current times you will have to book tickets to get access and you have to enter the building on the Merrion Street side. Tickets are available here: https:\/\/www.nationalgallery.ie\/visit-us\/book-your-ticket<\/a> The National Gallery also is running events again and because the events have limited number of spaces, they can book out relatively fast, at least before I can write about the events, so check out the events 1-2 weeks in advance here https:\/\/www.nationalgallery.ie\/whats-on<\/a> and then book tickets for them.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ Visit Dublin Castle for free<\/strong>
\nUntil the end of 2021, entry to Dublin Castle is free for all visitors. You will be able to visit the State Apartments on a self-guided tour. There are currently no guided tours and therefore the Medieval Undercroft and Chapel Royal are not accessible. Opening hours are Mon-Sun & Bank Holidays: 09:45-17:45 (last admission 17:15). Tickets can be booked at https:\/\/dublincastle.admit-one.eu\/?p=calendar&ev=SELFGUIDE<\/a> for free there will also a limited number of tickets available at the ticket desk.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
