Hi all!<\/p>\n

A few days ago a friend and mentor of mine, international speaker and leadership expert Steve Farber, posted something on Social Media where he asked “What future will you create?” and it got me thinking. Our future, the future of our families\/friends\/businesses, of our countries and of the whole world is not pre-determined, but is constantly influenced by us. Some of us have more influence than others, but we ALL have an amount of influence over our world.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

But do we really use that influence? And if we do, do we use it in the best possible way? Are you a future creator or do you just let things happen to you? Do you take action or do you let others take you for a ride?<\/p>\n

Right now, Ireland needs people who step up. Our politicians and many other people in public decision making roles are not overwhelming most of us with their competence and expertise, to put it mildly. But there are lots of other areas where you could make a difference. It doesn’t have to be in politics! Maybe you can organise an event in your neighbourhood? (We need lots more events than there are at the moment!) Maybe you can actively help some people who need help? Or share your opinions to make sure that they are heard? There are many many ways!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ HERITAGE WEEK 2021 – Last weekend<\/strong>
\nThe National Heritage Week, organised by the Heritage Council, will take place from 14-22 August. Its purpose is to build awareness about the value of heritage and support its conservation.
\nThere are 772 events listed on the “projects” website at https:\/\/www.heritageweek.ie\/projects<\/a> and many of them are online events. Saturday and Sunday are the last two days of Heritage Week 2021, but because a number of online events were video presentations\/talks, you can still catch up on a number of them.<\/p>\n

In the Greater Dublin area 121 events will happen and you can see them by checking this page https:\/\/www.heritageweek.ie\/projects?q=&where%5B%5D=dublin-city&where%5B%5D=dublin-dunlaoghaire-rathdown&where%5B%5D=dublin-fingal&where%5B%5D=dublin-south#listings<\/a> Unfortunately there is no filter that allows you to filter for online events only, so you will have to search among all 772 events, but there are some really good things happening, so take the time.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ Free SUMMER FITNESS\u00a0in South County Dublin<\/strong>
\nThe Free Summer Fitness events, organised by the South Dublin County\u00a0Sports Partnership, are continuing. Last week I listed all events, but it is a long long list, so this week I have the link to that list for you here

\nThe National Gallery is usually free anyway, but in current times you will have to book tickets to get access and you have to enter the building on the Merrion Street side. Tickets are available here: https:\/\/www.nationalgallery.ie\/visit-us\/book-your-ticket<\/a> The National Gallery also is running events again and because the events have limited number of spaces, they can book out relatively fast, at least before I can write about the events, so check out the events 1-2 weeks in advance here https:\/\/www.nationalgallery.ie\/whats-on<\/a> and then book tickets for them.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ Visit Dublin Castle for free<\/strong>
\nUntil the end of 2021, entry to Dublin Castle is free for all visitors. You will be able to visit the State Apartments on a self-guided tour. There are currently no guided tours and therefore the Medieval Undercroft and Chapel Royal are not accessible. Opening hours are Mon-Sun & Bank Holidays: 09:45-17:45 (last admission 17:15). Tickets can be booked at https:\/\/dublincastle.admit-one.eu\/?p=calendar&ev=SELFGUIDE<\/a> for free there will also a limited number of tickets available at the ticket desk.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
