Considering that we are told everywhere that this is the summer of Outdoors (with pubs and restaurants only open for outdoor dining and drinking), someone should send a WhatsApp or text message to the weather gods. It seems they have not received the information yet. :-O We are still in Spring until 01 June, but even late spring should be better than the 9.7 degrees that we had yesterday.<\/p>\n

Have you been out yet? Gone to a Farmer’s Market? Visited a museum? Or a gallery? Or maybe even dared entering a shop? You should!!! Easy yourself back into normal life. Do it your own speed, but do it! We are returning to normality with huge steps. You don’t have to rush anything, but also don’t stall! Real life is coming back, but it seems that online is here to stay!<\/p>\n

There will be figures in this whole scenario that will continue to tell you that “The next two weeks are critical!” or that will paint “Dark clouds on the horizon”, but it is now time to\u00a0challenge the doom and gloom merchants on\u00a0the veracity of their statements. Some seem to like lockdowns a little too much. :-O<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

+++ CRUINNIU NA NOG for kids and teenagers<\/strong>
\nOn 12 June another edition of Cruinni\u00fa na n\u00d3g will take place. It is a day of “free creativity for children and young people” – as the tag line says – and targets everybody under the age of 18. There will be lots of free events and you can already find them on https:\/\/cruinniu.creativeireland.gov.ie\/<\/a> The reason why I mention it already is because the Gardiner Street Gospel Choir, with which I am involved, is inviting to a Virtual Choir event. The participant (Age: 10-17) will learn a song and afterwards video themselves singing the song. All entries will then be combined to form a Virtual Choir. The song is called “Best Day of my Life” and is a great high-energy song that is a lot of fun to learn. +++ RCSI MY HEALTH LECTURES<\/strong>
\nOver the last few months, the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI) ran the RCSI MyHealth Series of lectures. The series is now finished, but all lectures can be watched online here http:\/\/www.rcsi.com\/myhealthlectures<\/a> The topis are wide reaching and really interesting. They cover topis like Happiness, Fertility and Pregnancy, Vaccinations, Winter Readiness, Stress Management, Tobacco and Alcohol, Exercise and Nutrition, Arthritis and many more. A total of 18 lectures are available.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

+++ Free admission to ALL Irish Heritage Sites managed by OPW<\/strong>
\nThe OPW (Office of Public Works) manages most Irish Heritage sites, including Dublin Castle, Kilmainham Gaol, Rathfarnham Castle, Kilkenny Castle, Br\u00fa Na B\u00f3inne\/Newgrange Visitor Centre and many others. To hel with the recovery and getting back to normality, the Minister of State with responsibility for the OPE, Patrick O\u2019 Donovan has announced on Friday that admission to all sites will be free until the end of the year.
\nIn normal times this would be super news and I would celebrate it. But at the moment we still are in different times. Some sites are closed (e.g. Kilmainham Gaol), other sites have limited visitor numbers and guided tours are also still cancelled. So the celebration is a little dampened, BUT, there is a real possibility that all sites will open before the end of year AND that guided tours will re-start again and once that happens, then this free access until the end\u00a0of the year is great news. +++ Dublin Dance Festival & International Literature Festival<\/strong>
\nThe Dublin Dance Festival (with this year’s focus on Dance Films) will take place from\u00a0 18-30 May. It seems that there are a couple of free events as well, but it is so difficult to find out which events are free and which aren’t that I had to give up.
