Looks like we need to embrace the online events again for a few more weeks.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Hi all!<\/p>\n

At the end of last year, I included a count down timer in the weekly Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events). It was intended to give some hope and something to look forward to and luckily, the date for the re-opening did come and we all enjoyed freedom for another little bit (some maybe a bit too much!?).<\/p>\n

This time the situation is very different. There is no count down timer because we have NO idea when Ireland will leave Level 5 and that is madly frustrating. The government (or NPHET) still don’t\u00a0know what they are doing and why, but the numbers do give them a strong argument. So what can we do?<\/p>\n

Firstly, we need to accept the near certain scenario that not much will change by the promised date of 05 March. I would hope that we will see some change after Easter (04 April), but with some surprise I read today that some seem to think that we will stay in lockdown for another 9 weeks!? That would be until the END of April\u00a0:-O and\u00a0I think most of us will have gone mad by then.<\/p>\n

The next thing is that we need to do is make use of the time to re-focus…away from Covid stories. Arrangements regarding work are different than in the first lockdown last year, but there is still an opportunity to use some additional time to try out a new hobby, add some skills or add some knowledge. Not because you have to, but because it is\u00a0a great opportunity. You could learn something new, read some books, listen to audiobooks, work on your fitness with bodyweight exercises and lots of other things.<\/p>\n

And finally, we have to re-discover culture and this is currently only possible through online events, so if you can, try to “go” to at least one or two events per week. You will find lots of them here! Choose what interests you, but you are too young ;-) to condemn ALL online events! ;-)<\/p>\n

THE NEW E-MAIL DESIGN IS CAUSING SOME PROBLEMS<\/strong>
\nI have to apologise for the late sending of the Dublin Event Guide for the last three weeks. With the new design things should go faster, but at the moment they go slower. The resaon is that the responsive mails (i.e. mails that adjust to smaller, maybe mobile phone screen sizes) are very very fickle when it comes to having some incompatible HTML code in the e-mail. So last week and this week I spent more than an hour to identify what the problem was. Luckily I do have a bit of an idea about code, but today it was a SPACE that caused the problem. :-O I am confident that things will go faster in future. So I appreciate another bit of patience from you until all is going smooth! Thanks!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

ENTERPRISE WEEK 2021
\n<\/b>From 01-05 March the Enterprise Week 2021 will take place and – like everything – all events will be online this year. his will give a new opportunity to us to visit MORE events than if it was a physical event. The registration for the events (nearly all are free) has started earlier this week and if you are interested, you should have a look at https:\/\/www.localenterprise.ie\/Week<\/a> soon. Enterprise Week is organised by the Local Enterprise Offices and they all operate a little different. If you can take the time to check them all on that website, this will help.
