So, Level 5 again!? :-O How annoying\/disappointing\/upsetting is that? I think we all feel the same about it. But the trend was definitely going in the wrong direction and we probably all saw it coming, while hoping to the last minute for “just” a Level 4.8 rather than 5.<\/span><\/p>\n

The end date is meant to be 01 December and lets hope that it will be that date and not any longer. It might depress you to see how far away that is (then don’t look at this timer) OR it might give you hope. So here is the Countdown Timer (for the people that get the Dublin Event Guide e-mail or check it out on<\/span> http:\/\/www.dublineventguide.com<\/a> but not on Facebook):<\/span><\/p>\n

So what next? There is good news and bad news. The bad news is that most real life events will not happen until 01 December. (I don’t like calling them “Offline” events, because that kind implies that “not online” is a negative thing.) But there is also very good news: Level 5 is LESS severe than the lockdown the first time around. So Outdoor Markets, for example, can still happen. You are not meant to travel across town for them, though. And apart from that, we are going back to Online events!<\/span><\/p>\n

I know, many are fed up with Zoom calls, but maybe you should consider revising that feeling! Zoom is just a tool that helps you to stay in contact or experience things while we can’t do them in real life. Sure you probably are fed up with online events, but it is not Zoom’s fault! Being fed up with an enabling tool will hold you back from experiencing good things. Imagine you loved painting and you felt that you HATE paint brushes, that wouldn’t help your love for painting. If you like communicating with people or learning or experiencing culture and Zoom can help you, then embrace Zoom! It will be with us for a long time!!!<\/span><\/p>\n

A good few events in this Dublin Event Guide will be online (through Zoom, via Facebook Live or via YouTube) embrace them, enjoy them and make new experiences through these events. It doesn’t matter how exactly they are delivered to you.<\/span><\/p>\n

I will continue gathering things to do for you to keep all of us going and if it helps you, tell me on the Dublin Event Guide Facebook Page or through an e-mail or through a donation.<\/span><\/p>\n

As long as this works, I will continue. If I have to do the work AND pay the bills, I will stop. Fair??? I think so!<\/span><\/p>\n

2) FIVE KILOMETERS AT LEVEL 5<\/span>
\nThe Level 5 restrictions mention the 5km distance again, but it is one of the most misunderstood restrictions. Many seem to think that this is the max range of freedom during the Level 5 restrictions, but that is incorrect. Instead you are asked to stay at home, but you are allowed to leave for essential reasons and there is no restriction to the distance if you leave for essential\/vital reasons. The 5km limit ONLY applies to your range for exercise! So you are not meant to exercise outside a 5km radius around your home and this website will help you again to remind yourself how far 5km is<\/span> https:\/\/2kmfromhome.com\/5km<\/a>
\nBut if you – for example – need to go to a Health Food Store to get some required supplements and that store is outside of a 5km radius, you are allowed to go there. \nFor many years, the National Botanic Gardens runs a very popular yearly Pumpkin Decorating Competition around Halloween. Unfortunately the normal display of the Pumpkins is not possible this year, so they decided to run an competition with a VIRTUAL exhibition.<\/span>
