But we also know that more tests means more found infections. When you think about it, it doesn’t really matter that much at what Level the country is. The only thing that matters is how we behave! IF we were at Level 1 and we stayed away from people or locations where we could get infected, we wouldn’t have to worry too much and if at Level 4 we ignore all advise, even Level 4 or 5 will not change anything.

At Level 3.8, we are asked not to visit anybody at home, but we should still support people that live on their own. Always new challenges to circumvent, to keep my job interesting! ;-)

There is one thing though that you can help me with: I need your help with the cost to keep the Dublin Event Guide going and over the years we have found this deal: I do the work and you help me pay the bills through donations. I think so!

I am not asking for a lot, but I think one or two Euro per MONTH is a very fair suggestion. Even while adhering to the advise and recommendations, we can celebrate a modified version of Halloween.
—
If we don’t go into anybody’s house but opt only for brief (and safe) outdoor encounters the spirit of the recommendations is upheld. So if you follow my suggestions from two weeks ago then Halloween can still happen: Only go to neighbours that you have arranged a visit with. You should buy the goodies for your child and put them in a bag, put your child’s name on it and then leave it with the neighbour to give your child when you knock at the door. Double-bag the goodies and then remove the outer bag before your child gets to open it. Inconvenient? Sure! But you will be able to stay within the spirit of the restrictions and still enjoy the magic of Halloween.
—
Alternatively you could consider an “Indoors Halloween”: Let your child go from door to door in your house or apartment and do the “Trick or Treat” there. This is easiest if a number of people live at home because behind every door a different person could “hide”, but even in single parent households you could find a way. But a bed sheet over your head and move like a ghost from door to door while your child waits outside. ;-)
—
And especially for smaller children there are a number of Halloween games and activities that could be done at home (like dunking for apples/apple bobbing). They might have to take priority this year. RTE had a few suggestions as well https://www.rte.ie/lifestyle/living/2016/0923/818665-5-easy-but-simple-halloween-party-games/
—
All this is a bit trickier for teenagers, but I’d say Trick or Treat wasn’t their highest priority anyway. ;-) Someone suggested a dress-up Zoom call? It doesn’t sound overly exciting, but exceptional times require exceptional measures.

2) OCTOBER IS REUSE MONTH
October is reuse month and the goal is to to raise awareness about the benefits of reusing everyday items and materials that would otherwise go to waste. In October most Udemy courses will cost between EUR 10.99 and 12.99 again. At some point in August the courses were even reduced to 9.99, but these things happen sometimes without advance warning. I checked though and in September and October there are no 9.99 discounts planned, so you better get the courses when you see form for between 10.99 and 12.99.
