I really hurried this week and am a little sooner than other weeks, but not significantly. 24 hours is not enough anymore it seems. I need to stretch my days over and above the 24 hours somehow. ;-) The Street Performance World Championship is the main event this week, but you will be surprised to see LOADS more interesting events!<\/p>\n

Unfortunately my spell checker refused to work this week and when I type fast (especially in the middle of the night, when normal people are in bed) my error rate is quite high. You wonder why I added this section to this e-zine? If your week was great, you might not need it, but most of us had some challenging moments in the last week and this section is for the people that want to remind that despite all, life is great and it is important to be alive.<\/p>\n

If you are using the Internet a lot or if you read newspapers you have definitely heard\/read about ths week’s Feel Good clip and maybe you were one of the already 1.7 mio people that saw it. It is a total Feel Good clip with no deeper meaning behind it. It is just a brief example of enjoying life and having a good time. Make sure that you do something this weekend that you enjoy, even if it is something small. Even if it just puts a smile on your face for 3 minutes. It is definitely worth it!<\/p>\n

The clip this week is the one with Wayne Karney, the now-named Dublin taxi driver that became Internet-famous after dancing for 2.5 minutes on Dublin Streets. If you have seen it already, watch it again…and smile! ;-) I watched it a few times and it still makes me smile. Harmless fun for a couple of minutes.<\/p>\n

This section is intended to provide some help in picking and choosing from the huge number of events by sharing with you what I will\/might or would do. This is not a “best of\u2026” list and if an event is not listed here, it by no means implies that the event is not interesting. Instead my “picks” are just based on my personal preferences. All events mentioned here are described in detail further down.<\/em><\/p>\n

This week it is very simple for me to recommend events to you because I know that the Street Performance World Championship is outstanding and I will be there on Saturday AND on Sunday. But – oh shock – there are LOTS of other good events this week as well and I will miss out on them. I hate that. ;-)<\/p>\n

If you have other time in addition to the time you spend in Merrion Square, maybe consider the Baseball Tournament or the new Science Gallery exhibition, which is brilliant. Or the Art Tunnel Market at Smithfield or the Toe Jam Car Boot Sale (Pity that I will miss that.) Or the Bray Summer Fest? Or the Sky Portraits Festival?<\/p>\n

Or maybe you don’t want to do anything of this and want to go to a park or the sea instead? The weather is pefect for it, but I can’t condone that, obviously. ;-)<\/p>\n

“Head in A Book” – 10 Days in Dublin – Ticket Competition<\/h2>\n

“Head in A Book” is part of the 10 Days in Dublin Festival. It takes place at 18:00 from 11-13 June in the Pearse Centre, 27 Pearse Street, Dublin 2. The event is a quirky comedy set in a library in 1980s Ireland written by Hugh Cardiff, directed by Steven Masterson, starring Geraldine Crowley, Ericka Roe, Billy Hutchinson & Adam Tyrrell.
