SPECIAL Event Guide: An Evening of Gospel Music

Hi all!

Occasionally I send a “SPECIAL” Event Guide in addition to the “regular” weekly Event Guide. This only happens if I can tell you about an event I am involved with. This Saturday sees such an event and I NEED your help to spread the word!

At a unique concert this Saturday (6th of October), Ireland’s leading Elvis performer Kevin Doyle with his band “Elvis The Way It Was” and his backing choir “The Graceland Gospel Choir” will perform “An Evening of Gospel Music”.

Special Guests in that concert are the 60-people strong Lingenfeld Gospel Choir from Germany.

The event is in aid of the Dublin Diocesan Children’s Pilgrimage, which sends 30-50 children with special needs every year to Lourdes for one week.

The concert will start at 20:30 and will take place in St. Andrews Church in Westland Row (next to Pearse Street DART Station). Tickets are 10 Euro and will be available at the door.

My involvement? I am singing in the Graceland Gospel Choir and my brother is singing in the Lingenfeld Gospel Choir. In addition I am organising this event.

Now I am coming to you!! I NEED your help in a) telling all your friends and family and b) to come to the concert. MAYBE see it as your contribution to the “Event Guide Organisation”. ;-) In return you will not only experience a brilliant concert, in addition I will promise you that you will find out about LOADS more events in this regular Event Guide and that your support is VERY much appreciated.

You could send the attached Press Release-type information to all of your friends! Or you can forward this mail if you wish.

Thanks for your help and I hope to see you on Saturday!!

–Joerg

An Evening of Gospel Music

Kevin Doyle, Ireland’s leading Elvis performer, will be playing a special benefit concert next Saturday 6th October at St Andrew’s Church on Westland Row. He will be backed by his regular groups, The Way It Was Orchestra and The Graceland Gospel Choir. The concert also features special guests from Germany, the Lingenfeld Gospel Choir, a 60-piece choir and band on tour and who are only performing at this unique event in Dublin.

The concert is in aid of Dublin Diocesan Children’s Pilgrimage, which sends children with special needs children to Lourdes every Easter where they are joined by thousands of children from around the world for “Children’s week in Lourdes”. All children are cared for on a one-to-one basis by a team of helpers, chaplains, doctors and nurses. (See lourdes.t73.nuahost.com/ for more details.)

Tickets cost EUR10 and are available at the door. The show begins at 8.30pm.

Not many people know that Elvis was a great lover of gospel music, recording several albums and often including these songs in his live set. The band, fresh from a sold-out run in the Tivoli Theatre performing The Elvis Presley Story, will recreate those spiritual sounds live at St. Andrew’s Church on Saturday in what promises to be a great musical event. (See www.elvisthewayitwas.com/ for more information.)

The concert will start with the Lingenfeld Gospel Choir, playing for the first time in Ireland, for one night only. In its 33-year history the choir has been official ambassadors of the German state Rhineland-Palatinate and has toured extensively around Europe.
