Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events) No. 608

Dear Dublin Event Guide Follower!!

When I had intended to retire the Dublin Event Guide and therefore stopped asking for donation, I also downgraded the e-mail distribution plan/contract and am therefore currently limited to sending 4 e-mails per month. For that reason you didn’t get a Dublin Event Guide e-mail last week, but the event list was posted on Facebook. I might upgrade that plan again at some stage and you can help getting the funds for it for NO cost to you as outlined here:
Just go to www.DublinEventGuide.com and click on the ad banner that is at the very top of the page! If you don’t see an ad banner there, please turn your Ad Blocker off and refresh the page and then do the clicking. ;-) It is just a few cents that I will get, but if enough people click on it – and it only takes a few seconds! – , it might do the job to cover the cost for sending the Dublin Event Guide.

For all new subscribers, this is the simplified (new) Dublin Event Guide (for Free Events). It is a long list with event headlines and then links so that you can check out the details yourself. I hope it works for you.

All events are sorted by start time, but watch out for the few events that have a “++” in front of them, the are particularly recommended. ;-) ALL events in this list are free, but some require booking!

This weekend is all about creativity for children and young people with the Cruinniú na nÓg Festival. There are more than 700 free events all over Ireland and LOTS of free events in all parts of Dublin. Too many to list! But there are links to all event lists below.

On Sunday is also Bloomsday, which is the celebration of an invented day from James Joyce’s book Ulysses. It seems that people are either total Bloomsday fans or they are totally uninterested in that day, there are not many half-fans. And it also seems that all Bloomsday fans are “well heeled” (means: wealthy), because it is quite hard to find free Bloomsday events. One important free venue for all things James Joyce is the James Joyce Tower & Museum in Sandycove. It is open 365 days a year and is always free. On Sunday they will already open at 08:00!
